  The story is exciting throughout, you can't guess what will happen next, and it gathers pace towards the final showdown at the end - and a marvellous end it is, very satisfying.  

This is probably the most modern vampire story I've ever read. Set in contemporary London, during a few weeks in the run up to the midwinter solstice, where the great vampire festival is being held each year, the story is told by a number of different individuals. Folks like me, who were not particularly drawn to vampire literature will become fascinated with this genre as it is written in Vampire Solstice.

This book is fantastic, alien, human, soaring - amazing.

Beautiful words, but more important (to me) is the beautiful message. Love forever, indeed.

It's gripping, I had to keep reading to find out what happens next.

The many vivid images painted by the prose will linger in my memory for a very long time.

The characters struggle with the changes happening in their lives, just like us, and this creates a powerful empathy which adds to the impact of the transformations undergone by the end of the book.

The book has left me with feelings of hope and joy and wonder.

This is definitely a journey worth taking.
