The Magician is the well-told, poignant story of Anna, who discovers a world filled with joy and beauty as she awakens to the magic that, although hidden, has always resided within her.

While the book is subtitled 28 Lessons in Magic, I found that careful reading revealed many more than that.

Magic is more than the casting of spells, more than rituals can reveal, and certainly more than the power some think it will give them. Magic is also a way of looking at the world and living in it.

Starfields has given careful readers a glimpse of a magic based on energy and love interwoven with hints they can use to improve their own lives.

I hope that one day she will find the time to write another book filled with more insights into the world of magic as she sees it and takes us farther along the path Anna has begun.

No matter how much I have learned, there is always more knowledge to be gained about how to fill my life with joy and beauty and magic.
